With over 15 years immersed in the design and architecture world, Sara Seravalli is a recognised voice and storyteller within the built environment. Founder of Il Salotto and #DesignPopUp, she has created platforms that bring people together through conversation, curiosity and shared ideas — both in person and through digital content.
Sara is the host of the Design Lives Here podcast, where she leads in-depth, human-centred conversations with designers, architects, developers and cultural figures, uncovering the stories behind the places we inhabit. Her background in journalism and broadcasting, combined with years of working at the heart of the industry, gives her a natural ability to ask the right questions and create engaging, accessible narratives around complex subjects.
A confident and engaging public speaker, Sara regularly hosts panels, moderates debates and speaks at industry events across the UK. Known for her warm, direct and personable style, she connects easily with both audiences and interviewees, creating spaces for honest dialogue, fresh perspectives and meaningful exchange — always with the aim of inspiring better, more thoughtful and more sustainable approaches to design.
Reflections
For our Glasgow office’s tenth anniversary party we wanted an informal interview with our directors, to tell the story of our ten-year history.
Sara led the conversational interview focused on personal insights, reflections and visions for the future.
With her extensive knowledge of the design industry and podcast and event hosting experience, Sara was the perfect interviewer.
